David Schwimmer Will Direct Little Britain USA

David Schwimmer is set to direct the Los Angeles studio segments of Little Britain USA, HBO's six-episode transplant of the BBC sketch comedy series Little Britain. Michael Patrick Jann is directing parts of the episodes.

According to Variety, the series is based on the exploits of U.K. comedians Matt Lucas and David Walliams, but the setting was changed to reflect contemporary America in a mix of segments shot on location and in a studio.

The series shoots on location in North Carolina and will debut in the fall.

    Hey guys don't write it off before the show has aired. Little Britain UK was a smash hit due to the strength of material and the performers. I don'y know how it works in the US but in the UK comedians have huge input into the writing and directing, many times doing all of the roles to get the look/feel perfect. David and Matt are going to be giving it their all and would not have hired someone they didn't feel who could do the job.
    So give it a go, you might just like it, whatever the contect it's sure to be outrageous. And if you think, huh, he's obviously biased, or part of the production. No I'm not, but I must declare my interestt as one half of the Little Britain tribute act. All the best and hope you like the show!www.littlerbritain.com

    You're right there XJ. The context changes completely when it's remade to suit the preferences of another country. Look at The Office. Should have left it as it was. And Little Britain USA, what sort of crazy title is that?

    Who told him he could direct anything, name me one good movie his even been in. Rarely does any show come over from the UK and make a impact on US tv. It's usually tone down or not even the same.
