David O. Russell is in talks to direct Vince Vaughn in 2 Guns
Vince Vaughn will star in the project, which centers on an undercover DEA officer and an undercover naval officer who are investigating each other, unaware that they are both the good guys. They later discover they were duped by the mafia to steal $50 million from the CIA. The project is based on the Boom! Studios graphic novel by Steven Grant and Mat Santolouco.
We last reported on the project in October, when it was mentioned that Owen Wilson would also star. It isn't clear if Owen Wilson is still involved.
David O. Russell and Vince Vaughn were previously set to collaborate on Old St. Louis, a project that was put on the back burner after the director signed on to direct Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Since David O. Russell will rewrite the script, which was originally written by Blake Masters, it seems this project may be a ways off before production starts.
2 Guns comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington. The film is directed by Baltasar Kormákur.

The Narrator: The Better Man
Story doesn't seem to bad. Just take Vaughn off. Or better yet, let Russell focus on this, and dump Uncharted, giving that film a new director. But that might lead the film into development hell. Hmm..
