David Murray as Destro
G.I. Joe has another villain in David Murray.
IESB.net is reporting that David Murray has been cast in Stephen Sommers' G.I. Joe.
The chrome-domed Destro was a secondary villain in the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero series, however, Murray's character will be the primary baddie in this film.
Murray is most noted for his theater work, but he was recently seen on the big screen in a minor role as "Jumpy Thug" in Batman Begins. He joins the cast alongside Dennis Quaid (Hawk), Arnold Vosloo (Zartan), Channing Tatum (Duke), Sienna Miller (The Baroness), Ray Park (Snake Eyes), Rachel Nichols (Scarlett), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Heavy Duty), Said Taghmaoui (Breaker), Marlon Wayans (Ripcord), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Rex) and Byung-hun Lee (Storm Shadow).
G.I. Joe is set for an August 7, 2009 release.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra was released August 7th, 2009 and stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Byung-hun Lee, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce. The film is directed by Stephen Sommers.

think in Batman Begins..."where are you!?" "here!" and Batman snatched him. Thats who he is. I think he will do a good job. He is good in theater and did a good job with his expressions and movements in Batman Begins.

brew, the story says that Destro will be the main villain here, so I'd assume that Cobra Commander won't be in this one. Maybe they're saving him for the sequel? Maybe this is before Cobra's reign, or something?

Ya there alot of Joes and I actually whatch Batman Begins on tv yesterday so I remember him from the "Jumpy Thug". The cast is still gonna get long but I thought that not all of them will be in the movie for futur movie purposes...
