David Lindsay-Abaire to Write Spider-Man 4?
Columbia is known for getting interesting choices to pen the Spider-Man films. Penning the second and third films was dramatic writer Alvin Sargent (Ordinary People). Another Pulitzer writer, Michael Chabon (Wonder Boys), did some work on Spider-Man 2.
Spider-Man 4 was also worked on at one time by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac).
Spider-man 4 is in development .

"Spider-Man 4 was also worked on at one time by James Vanderbilt..."
WTF
Vanderbilt = perfect penman
Can someone enlighten me on Vanderbilt's current situation of NOT being behind the boards anymore, when it was him who pitched the idea of a two-movie arc ?

True that, darknight. Seeing as how Harry was buried next to his father though, in the films, I can't really see that...
unless...
The opening of Spidey 4 shows Norman's grave (2 years ago) and than his hand pops out of the ground! That's gripping :)

I forgot how he revive himself Diaigma, but in the comics Norman does die the same way and returns back to life. Aperrantley Norman made preperations if he died at the hands of Spiderman. Also Hobgonlin is a great choice, I mean he could steal the Green Goblin's glider and weapon's.

Seeing as how they killed off Norman in film #1, how would he do what you're suggesting, darknight? Norman's dead, in the film franchise. Now, unless someone fills his shoes...Hobgoblin maybe, than I can see that.

spiderman 3 was not that bad like people are saying was and the franchise needs no reboot rami and abarie need a story of spiderman showing responsibility and become the hero he is destined to be yeah spidey 3 had that corny emo peter Parker it was still a decent movie. Also people are just saying that because others are saying it. Plus the next spidey film should have lizard and scorpion and at the end the green goblin returns just as he does in the comics leading to part 5 where Norman secretley recruit Vulture and shocker while providing them with their weapons . Also gwen stacy is killed by Norman because Spiderman must face a challenge save MJ or Gwen Stacy

I like M4r10's idea, but unfortunately, the rights have exchanged hands (for good I fear) and Marvel getting a hold on them again is unlikely.
Spider-Man 3 was a let-down compared to it's predecessors, but that was mostly due to the script. It was three movies cut up and compressed into the space of one. Raimi has what it takes to craft a great film from the director's chair, but as a writer--Evil Dead's horror comedy vibe isn't a format that becomes the Spider-Man franchise well.

I think like the x-men franchise they ruined it, they need to stop both x-men and spiderman, give back the rights to marvel and let them make a better movie.

I like the idea of killing a main character kupo, but I think i've had enough of spidey wollowing in self-pity and guilt. That's the one thing that's been wrong with the spidey franchise, they make Spidey look too much like a p*ssy with all these feelings and what-not. Uncle Ben's death drove him to be a hero in the first place. I know emotional connections are a big part of good movies, but if a character dies, I just want to see him beat the f*ck out of some supervillain lol I think seeing Spidey do that would have a bigger effect on an audience than seeing him sit in his apartment wondering if he should be a hero like we've seen already. In short: he should EMBRACE being a hero, not question being one. That would drive the story even more

Honestly i think one of the most intense ways to grip an audience emotionally would have to be killing off a main character.
They did it in 3, and i really think it wasn't executed too well. But, say if they were to tragically kill off mary jane or aunt may like in the comics, that would be meaningful in alot of ways.
Doing so could be the motivation that drives Spiderman to become more obsessed with being a hero. Then there will be alot of guilt and internal conflict, where he questions himself, such as "How can he save the people of New York City from harm, if he can't save the ones most dear to him"
they could possibly build the whole premise of the story around that

They could open it with Spidey busting a small villain (Vulture, Chamillion, Kravin, etc), that way we can see more villains, but don't need the huge back story for all of them...
The hardest thing is to make a better movie on the mistakes that were already made...
They can introduce Shadow Cat without a back story easy... time to throw in a love triangle, or another chick to pull on Pete's love interests. Maybe he does not want to be Spidey anymore (I know what you're thinking, not another 2, but hear me out). He confides in Conners to get rid of his Spider powers. Since Gwen is in Doctor Connors' class, she could be of more interest to Pete. Gwen and Pete may have something going on, realizing that there are more fish in the sea, and MJ gets the shaft. The leftover venom that Conners was holding interferes somehow, and Pete becomes the Eight Limbed Spider-Man by accident, as well as Conners becoming Lizard while trying to help, and then Lizard kills Gwen... Now it's up to MJ to stand up, not be a damsel in distress, and actually help Spidey for once.
That would be sweet.
What do you think? That would make a great #4 for me...but I'm open for better ideas.

Spidey 4 will probably be cool, as long as they keep the number of villains to a minimum so they get the screen time they deserve. Oh, and less crying, please. ;-) The series doesn't need a reboot. Just a better style than the 3rd like the first two had. And maybe this new writer will pull it off. He at least sounds reliable. :-)

I love the Spider Man films except for #3 not enough Venom and toooooooo much crying in it, made it to sappy. The first two were great they just need to reboot #3.I wish they put Venom in half of movie and showed him to be a very dangerous villain to Spider Man.

Reboot is not needed. Just slow down the story and do NOT force extra villains just to sell an extra action figure.
Sandman was a classic villain that go robbed of his only chance to be in a movie.
Venom was too big a villain and popular a character to be made to share a movie with another main villain.

The Narrator: The Better Man
I agree. No need for a reboot. Just different writers and less villains. It needs to be hopeful like you fine gentlemen said.
Also please keep his mask on. In the comics, even in Civil War, they mention that Spideys secret is the most sought after identity or something. So yeah.
Also don't keep letting M.J. get captured in the end. Bring in Lizard in the 4th with the intro f black cat, that way Carnage can have the 5th movie all to himself. then we can see some real battles.

reboots are not the thing at the moment. Lets see 4 and 5 have to offer first. At least it hasn't gotten the Batman style in it. If it is bad then we would have to wait 10 to 15 years for a new one.

It's always a good idea to pull A-list talent into these projects. Downey Jr. Is an Academy Award nominee, and look what he did with Iron Man. Gives smart writers and good actors a chance, and you'l be pleasantly surprised by the outcome.
