David Frankel to Direct Septimus Heap: Magyk

Marley & Me director David Frankel has signed on to direct the animated fantasy project Septimus Heap: Magyk, with Rob Lieber adapting for Warner Bros.

According to Variety, Karen Rosenfelt is producing through her Sunswept Entertainment banner.

Warner acquired bigscreen rights to Septimus Heap: Magyk, Angie Sage's seven-book series, two years ago. Septimus Heap: Magyk revolves around two babies switched at birth, a boy who's the seventh son of a seventh son and a girl destined to be a princess.

No production date has been set.

    I loved Marley and Me, but this doesn't sound too intriguing. The title's really lame, too...and another seven part series? ugh

    I thought this was supposed to be live action since it's slightly like Harry Potter but not Harry Potter. For the fact that it's suppose to replace him as well once the Potter films were done.
