Pascal says that fans of both the movie and the book will be very satisfied with what the director does with the material.
"Oh, just wait and see. We're doing the book. That's why we hired David Fincher. We're going to really do this, in all their glory. Otherwise why do it? They're very R-rated movies. It's the shock of what's really going on underneath the surface of society. If you don't actually make good on that, you haven't told the story.
Also, as there are three books in the series (the other two being "The Girl Who Played with Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest") the question arises of David Fincher lending his distinct vision to all three films.
"Yeah, I would like it. I'm hoping he will. And he's hoping he will." Pascal states.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was released December 21st, 2011 and stars Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Robin Wright, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Christopher Plummer, Joely Richardson, Yorick van Wageningen, Steven Berkoff. The film is directed by David Fincher.

For some reason this doesn't bother me I am actually behind a remake I loved the first movie and I think it is perfect the way it is, but I do think that some times its OK to have an American remake Like the Departed was a great remake and that movie was perfect the way it was.

This doesn't need a remake, regardless if Fincher is doing this....it's not necessary.

We should all be glad Fincher is doing this. He's never made a bad film. Not once.

Do we really need a remake?

This movie is pretty good as is, doesn't really need another version. Same thing that bothers me about the Let the Right One In remake, not necessary on movies this new.

I've Seen the Girl who played with fire and i thought it was not has good has the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, but if they are going to make a English remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo it should be done well if not Don't Bother.

Well if you want it to simply be as faithful to the book as possible in all its glory...Then simple don't do it, because its already getting done...
The only difference is that this one will have a bigger budget and a A/B cast list...with an A-list director...But you cant make this any better than it already is...
Looking forward to The Girl That Played With Fire...
