David Fincher Will Direct The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Next!
Steven Zaillian is writing the script and Scott Rudin will be producing for Sony. Actress Carey Mulligan has been reported to be a front-runner for the lead role, Lisabeth Salandar, but it was said that Mulligan has not been offered the role as of yet and it was also said that Fincher is looking to cast an unknown actress for the lead. Shooting was said to being in either September or October.
The film will be based off the Swedish-language film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which was released stateside on March 19.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was released December 21st, 2011 and stars Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Robin Wright, Stellan Skarsgård, Christopher Plummer, Joely Richardson, Yorick van Wageningen, Steven Berkoff. The film is directed by David Fincher.

@The Fallen - I'm confused..Mulligan is "too old" at 25, but Blunt is "good" at 28...?? IMO, they're both to "cutesy". A tough girl is needed, as long it's not Michelle Rodriquez tough.

I'm a no go for Mulligan. too old. Lets at least cast this right. I say Emily Blunt would do good. Fincher would definitely do the original justice. granted I have not seen it but it has received a lot of acclaim worldwide.
