Err
i just don't see it.
i love darren arrenofsky's movies so far but robocop just seems like too run of the mill for him.
aronofsky has always been more on the artistic side of movie making, in my opinion.

Not sure what a Robocop remake will bring to the table that the original didn't. Perhaps only the animation of the ED 209 could be updated, from stop/go to CGI, but how can the drama and action sequences be bettered? Robocop was an 80's icon, and the film a classic, so this is all about making money while displaying a startling lack of originality. I agree with old special effects heavy films, like Clash of the Titans being remade despite it's classic status. The special effects are now embarrassingly old looking, detracting from the overall look of the film now. An overhaul with modern CGI effects will breath new life into this. But with Robocop, it's being remade just for the greedy sake of it.

Why screw with perfection? We don't want a re-make of a classic......Why can't Hoolywood come up with new, original ideas?
NO REMAKE!

I'm very conflicted with this. Robocop represents a time in Hollywood history that is tough to remake, due in part to the over-the-top action that was present in most awesome action movies in the 1980's. The flick still seems fresh to me as it was when I saw it 20 years ago...on the other hand Aronofsky is respectable, and maybe I'm just getting too old to not see all my favorite movies as a child getting recycled lol.

Darren Aronofsky to Direct RoboCop ...ROFL....bizarre!!!
I'm still trying to understand how can they remake a film like "Robocop" which is only about 21 Yrs Old!!!
Also, "Robocop" was nominated for an Academy Award for Film Editing and an Academy Award for Sound. It won the Academy Award for Sound Effects Editing.
Alsoi, in 2007, Entertainment Weekly named it the #14 greatest action movie of all time.
SO HOW IN THE HELL CAN THEY RE-MAKE "ROBOCOP"!?
HELLASTUPID!
