Paramount Pictures and New Regency Productions jointly announced today that Academy Award-nominated director Darren Aronofsky will direct the feature film Noah, with Academy Award-nominated screenwriter John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator) coming aboard to re-write the script by Darren Aronofsky & Ari Handel.

Darren Aronofsky and Scott Franklin will produce the movie.

"Since I was a kid, I have been moved and inspired by the story of Noah and his family's journey. The imaginations of countless generations have sparked to this epic story of faith. It's my hope that I can present a window into Noah's passion and perseverance for the silver screen," said Darren Aronofsky.

Noah comes to theaters March 28th, 2014 and stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Saoirse Ronan. The film is directed by Darren Aronofsky.

    I just read an article on cracked.com about the 7 movies you never expected were rip offs. Darren apparently copy/pasted "Black Swan" from some anime film. And JC copied "Terminator" from Harlan Ellison, and QT copied "Resevoir Dogs" from a chinese film, etc etc. :P

    Awesome news to hear that it is finally confirmed! People were skeptical as to whether this was ever going to get the green light..........so that is great to hear that it's actually happening. It almost makes up for him leaving The Wolverine.
