Director Darren Aronofsky (The Fountain) has bowed out of directing an episode of the hit TV show Lost, due to scheduling conflicts, says Entertainment Weekly.

"The timing didn't work out," Aronofsky tells us. "I'm expecting a child." (The mom-to-be, of course, is Oscar nominee Rachel Weisz.)

Aronofsky apparently would still like to direct an episode, but this probably won't happen until next season. The director is currently putting the final touches on his upcoming sci-fi flick, The Fountain, starring Hugh Jackman.
