Daniel Craig wanted for 5 more James Bond movies
This multi-million dollar deal will put Daniel Craig at eight James Bond movies altogether, making him the longest serving 007 in the franchise's history. Roger Moore has seven Bond adventures under his belt, not counting his appearance in The Cannonball Run, where he plays a spoof of the character going unnamed.
Skyfall producer Michael G. Wilson had this to say.
"Daniel's been a terrific Bond, a superb actor and a terrific man. The fans love him and I don't think there's a better actor to play the part.
Filming (on Skyfall) has gone very well so far and I'd love Daniel to surpass Roger's record and do eight pictures. Daniel's been an absolute pleasure to be around because he takes the role so seriously.
There's really no one more passionate about making these films work than him...He's a filmmaker's dream. A lot of people have said Daniel's been their favorite Bond since Sean Connery and I can't argue with them. He's doing a great job."

Casino Royale, which marked Daniel Craig's first turn as James Bond, stands as the most profitable entry in the twenty-three film franchise. Michael G. Wilson continued to talk about the latest one, Skyfall, comparing it to what Sean Connery did in the 60s.
"The director Sam Mendes and Daniel are taking it back to a 60s feel - more Sean. I think that's what the fans wanted. There's a magical Goldfinger feel surrounding it all. It's all very exciting. I can't wait for people to see the movie because I think we're making a very special Bond."
Michael G. Wilson reveals that there is a plan to get all six James Bonds together for a special retrospective timed to the release of Skyfall. Those actors include Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig. David Niven, who played 007 in the original 1967 Casino Royale, passed away in 1983.

That's a shame, i understand that they're desperate for someone who can put people in the movie theater seats, i heard a rumor that they were thinking of going for ewan mcgregor before they decided on craig, but i think mcgregor would've been a far more interesting choice

He's the best bond we've ever had in my opinion so I would love to see him take on 5 more films.

@zeus Good call. I wasn't aware Elba is British (I've only seen him as Heimdall in Thor--he didn't say much). I could get behind that if he can establish himself a little bit more in films over the next three years.

Well, looking at his two failures of this year, Cowboys and Aliens and Dream House, I wouldn't be surprised if he did take the deal.

Idris Elba is to ghetto acting to play Bond. Craig's in better shape than Connery and Moore both were in they're times as Bond. He'll last.

@bawnian-dexeus Unfortunately, that is very true.

@zeus If they actually decide to make Bond a diverse character, Idris is the only choice they've got.

They'll probably change their minds about him being Bond in the rest of the Bond movies.

If he can do it, fine, but age is gonna show and makeup can only go so far.

As much as I love Daniel in the role and have no problem with this, I doubt it'll happen.
Btw, I hope Mendes isn't getting too retro on this, I think what made Casino Royale so strong was how current and realistic it was.

@zeus Not really cheek, but truth. There is a black Leiter. As for a black Bond, I don't see it happening at this point. I know of no black English actors that are up to the task. but if you can come up with a credible name, please let me know.

Talk about a blockbuster deal, I can see 2 maybe 3 more films but certainly not 5. He is the best Bond IMO so the more the marrier.

I like the idea because he is such an awesome James Bond but I am worried like some others are. He is getting older and these movies usually have a gap of about 3 to 4 years.

yes Daniel is great but like @randle says, it may not be 5,but then again you never know, he does keep himself looking good and it all depends on the time scale of the releases
