Daniel Craig Is Set to Star in Defiance

James Bond's Daniel Craig has just signed onto the World War II action drama Defiance. According to Variety, the tough guy actor will be playing a Jewish resistance fighter living in Nazi occupied Poland. He escapes into the woods where he joins up with other resistance fighters for the good of mankind.

Edward Zwick will be writing, directing and producing the film. It is based on a true story.

Daniel Craig plans on shooting the film before reprising his role as James Bond for a follow-up to Casino Royale. That film already has an announced release date of November 7th, 2008.

Defiance is set to start shooting in September of this year. It is one of many World War II features currently going into production.

Casino Royale was released November 17th, 2006 and stars Daniel Craig, Eva Green, Mads Mikkelsen, Judi Dench, Jeffrey Wright, Giancarlo Giannini, Caterina Murino, Simon Abkarian. The film is directed by Martin Campbell.
