Daniel Adams to Direct The Big Valley

The 1965 television western The Big Valley is being resurrected for the big screen by Kate Edelman and Daniel Adams. According to Variety, the film will be produced through their Panther Entertainment banner with Adams set to direct.

The story follows a widowed matriarch of the wealthy Barkley family, originally played by Barbra Stanwyck, who lived in 19th century Stockton, California. The script was written by Adams and will include elements from the show's pilot and several episodes. No actors have been cast yet.

The Big Valley is set to head into pre-production in January of next year, with much of the shooting taking place in April around New Mexico and Michigan.

This is very cool. I loved watching the reruns of this show after school when I was a kid. Barbara Stanwyck, Lee Majors, Linda Evans, Peter Breck and Richard Long, what a cast!
