Arrow gets a pilot order at The CW Network
We first reported on Arrow last week, when the network was in final negotiations to order the pilot, which is based on The Green Arrow DC Comics series. The show is described as a modern-day re-telling of the story. The comic book centered on Oliver Queen, a billionaire by day and masked hero by night, who uses an arsenal of trick arrows to defeat his enemies. Justin Hartley played The Green Arrow on Smallville, but he is not involved in the new pilot. Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim wrote the pilot script, based on a story by Marc Guggenheim and Greg Berlanti. David Nutter is expected to direct the pilot.
The Carrie Diaries hails from Gossip Girl producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. The project, which we first reported on in September, is based on Candace Bushnell's novel, which serves as a prequel to Sex and the City, following Carrie Bradshaw through her high school years. Gossip Girl writer Amy Harris wrote the pilot script.
Beauty and the Beast, which we first reported on in September, is loosely based on the 1987 Beauty and the Beast TV series starring Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton. This new series is set in modern day, and also has a procedural twist. Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper wrote the script.

I like Green Arrow but I think there's a better character that the CW could do first, I'm thinking Shazam. Do we really need a Beauty and the Beast show, Once Upon A Time is exactly good so shouldn't that be enough for fairy tale shows. And Carrie already had a TV show, what more can they really do with this. We all know what the hell happens at the end, it's not like Smallville where you have years of material to use from.

I liked the Hamilton/ Perlman B&B. I hope CW doesn't ruin it. Arrow could be good. The other thing is not something of any interest.
