Craig Gillespie Set to Direct Fright Night Remake?

It seems that a new horror remake might have found a director. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that director Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl) is in talks to direct the horror remake Fright Night.

Gillespie would be directing from a script by Marti Noxon, which will be an updated version of the 1985 cult classic film that Tom Holland directed. It was said that the new film will have the main character discovering that his neighbors are vampires.

No production schedule was released for the film.

Fright Night was released August 19th, 2011 and stars Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant, Imogen Poots, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Dave Franco, Reid Ewing. The film is directed by Craig Gillespie.

    make it scary as hell, pump it up with 3D so that way everyone will scream to their hearts content.
    The actors must be excellent in it and have it totally dark in so many ways.

    lars was a decent flick.

    it will pretty much boil down to writing and casting choices though for this one.
