1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Daniel Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don't welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). It's a town that lives in fear.
But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.
Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he's been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents-townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors-all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.
Cowboys & Aliens was released July 29th, 2011 and stars Daniel Craig, Abigail Spencer, Buck Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Cooper Taylor, Clancy Brown, Paul Dano, Chris Browning. The film is directed by Jon Favreau.

I am thrilled about this. I love Aliens. I love cowboys. I love Harrison Ford, especially when he's in hats, and I love Olivia Wilde...I think more movies need to be made with elements of action and fantasy and YES, convoluted plots that can't be taken too seriously. That's what I want! I think the general atmosphere is tense in America and we want release, escape, we want to be taken away for a thrilling ride in an alternate reality. Someone's balls are getting wet from this? Is that out of fear or excitement? hmm. My eyeballs are getting wet from this because I'm tearful with joy!

When The Mime heard about this movie and the title....first thing that came out was "this movie shtinks (stinks with and H)" that was like a year ago, when info on this was just "it's going to be a movie about cowboys and aliens" durr.... But, time goes by and The Mime spoke with a friend who is part of the production crew and The Mime's gotta tell ya....It sounds interesting.

I was against this at first. Just the idea oof doing anything with a huge sci-fi twist in a historical time to dose not appeal to me. But the pic looks kool. And as I been thinking, back in the 80's there was a space cowboy show call Bravestar. A native american space marshal with mystic ability to cal apone spirts to give him powers and abilitys. It is on tv again late night on a kids channel. So i am more open to this movie now, just hope for the best. The cast and director is great picks though.
