The site also ran a brief interview snippet from newly-returned Heroes writer Bryan Fuller, who stated in an interview with IF Magazine that he has been in contact with J.J. Abrams about a new TV series.
"I told my agent and told the people of J.J. Abrams' team I want to create another Star Trek series and have an idea that I'm kicking around," Fuller said. "I would love to return to the spirit of the old series with the colors and attitude. I loved Voyager and Deep Space Nine, but they seem to have lost the '60s fun and I would love to take it back to its origin."
We'll certainly keep you updated on this potentially-new TV series.
Star Trek was released May 8th, 2009 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

Abso-frakin-lutely not! I am so sick of all these re-boots. I'll go to see the movie.. but another re-make tv series. And Star Trek? No. Not unless it's a new idea.. or a continuation. Aren't these people capable of any new ideas? Oh, by the way.. I've got this Goldilocks and the three bears re-boot I'd like to do. Except it's set in the present day.. and Goldie is a porn star. Whaddya think? I smell ratings, baby!

Next Generation, DS9 and Enterprise were the best.

i just love when pypebomb drops in and gives us lil gems of insightful thought like that. the only three i've really watched were NG, DS9 and Voyager. of those NG was the best.

Err
by "into" which you said twice alerting me that it wasn't just a typo, did you mean "intro"?
i'm going to assume yes, you meant "intro".
anyway, i'm in. i watch the original series every sunday when it's on, i can't see why i wouldn't at least give this show a chance.

The only thing that "sucked" about enterprise was the into theme! they could have done something better than that lame into. After the second season they upped the tempo on it and it still blew!

"Voyager" was good, but it was my least favorite of the new ones. However, the original series is my least favorite of all. The characters were great, but the stories aren't as good (overall) as the spin-offs.

As long as it's not a reboot, I'd probably watch.
And "Enterprise" did not suck. (Especially the last season of it.)

Well, loganforand is right in saying the original and The Next Generation were the best. But come on, DS9 and Voyager were awesome! (Voyager was better than DS9 though)
And yes, ComradeHenson. I agree with you fully. Enterprise did suck.

OLD NEWS. THIS RUMOUR WAS ABOUT AS SOON AS THE CAST WAS CONFIRMED. WORD HAS IT THATS WHY THERES NO SO CALLED BIG TIME ACTORS IN IT. IT ALL DEPENDS IF THE FACT THAT J.J.ABRAMS CAN BRING IN A LARGE BOX-OFFICE. I,M NOT SOLD ON THIS FILM YET, I JUST HOPE IT DOESNT TURN INTO A STUPID TEENAGE TAKE ON STAR TREK. TIME WILL TELL.

If they give it a similar treatment as the new BSG series, I might enjoy it. I like the idea of keeping the colorful, 60s Googie motif but applying it to a legitimate action sci-fi series.
But I agree, it will never be as good as the original.
You guys seem to be reading the quote incorrectly, as most of you are lambasting Voyager and DS9. Fuller said "I loved Voyager and Deep Space Nine BUT [KEYWORD HERE IS "BUT"] they seem to have lost the '60s fun and I would love to take it back to its origin."
I would be in favor of this.
Enterprise sucked.

I'd much prefer a miniseries that encompasses all the modern shows. There are many interconnections between each series (besides the obvious starfleet one). I thought it was a shame that the War with the Dominion was never exploited as a crossover movie. Oh well, any crossover would be great.

This would be a horrible idea. Keep this thing in the movie arena. Another series would tank just like all the rest. The original and TNG were the best! Enterprise wasn't bad Bakula did a good job but lets just stay away from tv if we wanna avoid another Voyager and DS9

Whatever they do it will never be as good as the original with William Shatner.
