Now, they're quick to point out that there is still no "official" script for the film. But fans of Batman are no doubt doing a run-down in their head about the most famous and interesting of the Caped Crusader's villains, and realizing that odds aren't bad that Catwoman will be in the next film. So, it makes sense that rumors as to who might play her are coming up.
Furthermore, it's entirely possible that either the studio or Ms. Mitra's own people have started the rumor, simply to gauge fan-interest, and to see whether or not their would be an audience for the film based on her casting. It's no secret that part of the financial success of The Dark Knight came from people who wanted to see Heath Ledger's final performance as the Joker. So, it makes sense that studios might "test the waters" to see what sort of buzz would be generated by a particular casting rumor.

The Dark Knight Rises comes to theaters July 20th, 2012 and stars Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

Catwoman wouldn't be the villain, but the femme fatale. She would be a long running character, and they need a new love interest since Rachel was blown up in TDK. I think Mr. Freeze could definitely work. Remember, Joker was reworked in TDK. He didn't fall into a vat of chemicals, he just wore face paint. Something similar could be done with Freeze. For instance, instead of being hypothermic, he could be an albino. That would give him similar characteristics--no sunlight as a specific means to replace heat in general. Make him a cold-blooded hitman/murderer to explain the nickname even further. It's different, maybe off-beat, but a way to do the character in a more realistic way. Also, don't forget Mr.Zsasz, a truly disturbing character, or even Dr. Thomas Elliot(Hush), who would bring backstory about the child Bruce Wayne with him. There are many possibilities, it's just a matter of picking the right one.

I don't think Freeze could work because the new Batman films are much more rooted in reality, and in order for Freeze to work his character would have to go through some major changes, like getting rid of the cryogenic suit, ditching any kind of freeze gun, etc. That means that he wouldn't really be Freeze anymore. It should be the Riddler or nothing.

Mt Freeze would be a good idea, just have the entire film around him. Dominic from Lost and LOTR would be a good choice since the character is suppose to be slim and bald.

I dont know why everyone thinks Freeze is a bad idea. Is it because whenhis name is brought up you think of Arnold Schwarzenegger. i say he could work, he has a troubled pass and nolan would know how to use that. just get a good actor to play him instead of Arnold

good call for her playing the cat woman, but f*ck cat woman what a boring villian how about someone new like Black Mask, Killer Croc, or Harley Quinn and have the joker back in it and GET Joseph Gordon-Levitt to play him, if you have seen KILL SHOT than you know the Levitt would be peret toplay the joker, i mean Ledger did say in a interview that he wqould like someone else to play as his character and who better than Levitt or maybe even Ben Foster who kinda looks like the joker in HOSTAGE but Rhona Mitra is hot and would play cat woman well but NOT BEAT the lovely Michelle Pfeiffer

rhona mitra is hot so thats one factor, i liked her small role in reign over me. shes a good actress that hasnt had the chance to get notoriety. she would be good as selena kyle/ cat woman, and the batman character in the new films couls use a woman villian, something fresh and new. as for the main villian maybe it would'nt be a bad idea to create a new villian. if they don't then i'd like to see the riddler.
