Hobo with a Shotgun, which stars Rutger Hauer as the title character, is currently available on video-on-demand formats before its debut in theaters on May 6. We certainly have to celebrate this new release, and we have a new contest lined up for our readers. A train pulls into its final station and a Hobo hops from a freight car. He has dreams of a fresh life in a new city, but finds himself trapped in an urban hell instead. A city where criminals rule the streets, landlords evict single mothers in the middle of the night, and where the city's crime boss, The Drake, reigns supreme with his sadistic, homeless-killing sons, Slick & Ivan. Through the chaos, the Hobo comes across a shop window displaying a second hand lawn mower and a shotgun, and decides it's time to cut the grass, make the city beautiful and start a new way of life. But after witnessing the brutality that encompasses this city, he realizes the only way to make a difference in this place is with a gun in his hand and two shells in its chamber.

Hobo with a Shotgun was released May 6th, 2011 and stars Rutger Hauer, Pasha Ebrahimi, Robb Wells, Brian Downey, Gregory Smith, Nick Bateman, Drew O'Hara, Molly Dunsworth. The film is directed by Jason Eisener.

    I am a massive fan of Grind house movies, especially the Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez ones. When I found out that hobo with a shotgun was coming out. I was over the moon. And to think of it came for the Grind hose trailers originally for Planet Terror. I have already reordered hobo with a shotgun on DVD, its great I love it. And to will all this stuff would be an added bonus. I hope I win !!!!!

    Well I gotta say, this movie was awesome! It felt good to see a good typical Grindhouse movie. It had the gory, bloody scenes, the cheesyness and that dark grim to it. And to add to that, this movie is not only Canadian, but from the eastcoast, which is where I'm from. I'm pround that the eastcoast of Canada is finally getting reconized for it's movies and tv shows.
    I'm probably late for the prizes, but I stand my ground.
    I recommend every grindhouse lovers to see this!

    I'm driving to New York to see it in theaters tonight with Eisener's Q&A. I'm from West Virginia, so that's a hell of a trip for a movie. I've avoided seeing it On Demand and online, even when friends were doing so, so I could experience it in theaters at midnight the way it was intended to be seen. I think I deserve free swag.

    I've always been a huge fan of Rutger Hauer ever since Blade Runner. His performance on rooftops with the doves is epic. In the movie as the Hobo, he seems to be perfectly cast. I'm glad he's still doing movies. Great movie poster! I love movie posters that include multiple illustrations of scenes from the movie. You can stand in front of it and admire the work for hours!

    I am a big fan of the Grindhouse Genre and Robert Rodriguez is one my favorite directors of the genre along with Russ Meyer and Takashi Miike and this movie is based on the fake trailer which was released with the Rodriguez and Tarantino feature 'Grindhouse' which makes it even more special

    I just saw Hobo With A Shotgun last friday at a small filmfestival here in Copenhagen, Denmark and it was the best! We don't ever get ANY grindhouse here, so for me it was definately the gem of the festival's program. I would love some merchandise to help me spread some HOBO JUSTICE onto the streets of copenhagen! This movie deserves a much bigger following - it's pure gold!!!! Help me help the film!
