Blackwood Manor has new tenants. While architect Alex Hurst (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend Kim (Katie Holmes) restore their Gothic mansion's period interiors, Alex's young daughter Sally (Bailee Madison)-neglected by her real mother and brushed aside by the careerist father-can investigate the macabre history and dark corners of the estate. Spurring Sally's investigation are the voices-rasping whispers who call out to her from the basement, who promise her understanding and friendship, who are so very hungry and would like to be set free. When Sally gives in to her curiosity, she opens a gateway into a hellish underworld from which an army of beady-eyed, sharp-clawed monsters emerge, small in size but endless in number: the homunculi. Confronted with the horror that now threatens to taker her life and destroy her family, Sally desperately tries to warn the whole house, but there's just one problem: no one believes her. Will she make them understand in time, or will they become another chapter in the centuries-long horror story of Blackwood Manor?
Based on the 1973 telefilm that Guillermo del Toro believes to be the scariest TV production ever made, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark was co-written and co-produced by del Toro and directed by Troy Nixey. Akin to Pan's Labyrinth, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark focuses on a young girl's struggle against menacing and terrifying forces.
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark was released August 26th, 2011 and stars Bruce Gleeson, Edwina Ritchard, Garry McDonald, Bailee Madison, Carolyn Shakespeare-Allen, Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Jack Thompson. The film is directed by Troy Nixey.

To win the nightlight from this movie would mean the world to me. I have a little niece and once i watched the movie i immediately wanted to find her one just like it. I have been searching the web for DAYS and cannot find a nightlight even remotely close to this one. I even went to the mall, toys r us and tons of other little stores i thought might carry something similar. I havent had any luck. If i won it, i would be more greatful than you can even imagine and i would cherish it for the beauty that it is. I was hoping to find one for her, for her birthday and give it as a present. I cant even imagine how bright her face would get if she opened the box and this was in it. I would be the best auntie ever. I just want to make her happy. She i a very special little girl that will always have a place in my heart. Please take the time to consider all i have said and have a nice day. I love your website and will be a frequent visitor in the future :] that is a guarantee!

I've been a fan of horror movies since my uncle started showing me and my cousin Freddie and Jason movies when we were 3, and a Guillermo Del Toro fan since Pan's Labyrinth, and I would die for a chance to win that night light and book, and I'm not even going to lie and say the night light is for my kids lol, I want it, and for those of us who probably not going to win, it would be awesome if there were a store to buy the things.

I would like the night light carousel for my 6year old daughter. She watched the movie with us lastnight like a trooper and fell in love with it at first sight. My daughter Heaven has been crazy about horses since she was 2 1/2 years old and now she has not stopped talking about that night light..

I just want the night light. I am 16 and i collect porcelain and old dolls. I always love things that are mysterious and beautiful and that tell a story. I pretty much collect everything antique. I have music boxes, dolls, carousels and I have my very own Wooden Victorian Doll house that I built myself. My mission is to fill it with working lights and furniture. This music box in the movie is amazing and Iv always wanted something similar. I would love to have it in my room. This way I could see horses as well as listen to music box tunes as I sleep. :]

Ever since I saw the original film, I've always wanted to know more about the creatures, especially who they were and where they came from. For years there was this terrifying void I needed answers too and Guillermo Del Toro's version did a great job in filling in those blanks that left me in suspense for so long. I'm sure the book will be equally satisfying and I would love to win that prize.

I am a confirmed horror movie fangirl, and I would love to add these prizes to my fledgling collection of memorabilia! Oddly enough, many of my favorite childhood memories revolve around my being scared out of my gourd; hence, a special affinity for retro-styled films that have that aesthetic I remember from my youth. I love Guillermo Del Toro and I wasn't disappointed by this one. Checked it out opening night to avoid all of the spoilers and I found it to be an original spin on what is, essentially, a fairy tale. I don't believe I've ever won a prize- this seems like the perfect place to start!

Winning these prizes would be the ultimate wedding gift for this Oct 22nd bride-to-be. A horror fan since I was little, nothing compares to those exquisite tingles up and down your spine, and having the hair in the back of your neck stand on end. My groom isn't much of a horror fan, but he is slowly being drawn into my shadowy little world(darkly beautified and influenced by Mr. Del Toro of course!)- Muhuhahahaha! So Excited to see this movie on Friday!!!
