Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Billy Connolly has signed-on to the much anticipated feature adaptation of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events for Paramount and DreamWorks -- playing Uncle Monty.

The film will be directed by Brad Silberling and is based on Daniel Handler's children's book series. Other cast members include Jim Carrey, Meryl Streep and Jude Law.

The film follows a group of orphans on a series of adventures.

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events was released December 17th, 2004 and stars Jim Carrey, Liam Aiken, Emily Browning, Kara Hoffman, Shelby Hoffman, Jude Law, Timothy Spall, Catherine O'Hara. The film is directed by Brad Silberling.
