Green Latntern Common
"It's a blessing really, to know that I could potentially be this superhero," he enthused. "Justice League itself is an honor, and Green Lantern is an incredible character to play. It's a blessing to be associated with it," Common said. "Just being a black person, a black man, playing a superhero is an honor in itself," he smiled.
Justice League of America had been delayed due to the WGA strike, with production believed to be picking back up during the summer of 2008. For his part, Common believes that while the film has been momentarily shelved, he still sees it moving forward soon.
Justice League of America brings DC Comic's greatest heroes together for the first time on the big screen. Superman, Batman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and the Martian Manhunter will all band together to save the Earth. Justice League of America is tentatively scheduled for a 2010 release.

i think tyrese would have been an awful choice. He doesnt have the voice or really the look. I think Michael Jai White would have been good. He obviously has the voice from doing the animated series Green lantern and definitely the look. But i agree with you err2005, the cast needs to be older. George Miller needs to remember he is making thee Justice league movie, not power rangers

Common makes a good John Stewart. I still would have liked to see Tyrese Gibson instead, but Common could make it work. I'm glad it didn't get scrapped and I don't care if it comes out before the solo movies. This isn't the Avengers, this was planned from the beginning to be separate from the solos. The GL in the solo movie is gonna be Hal Jordan, not John Stewart, so there's your first clue this isn't tied into the solo movies like the Avengers will be. As long as it isn't a kiddie movie, it should be good.

i think common is a great choice he did his thing in smokin aces and i really cant wait to see him as a super-hero and he is actually proud of this so that's a plus, besides at least hes a better choice then sticky fingaz being blade nuff said.....

yeah i like common too, he seems like good people, but werent all the other actors cast like 10 years younger than him?
i happen to think hes the first one cast who is in the right age range. all superheroes cast in movies should be at least 35, in my opinion. i just wont buy a 25 year old superman, for instance.

this wil be an alright movie if they change their audience focus. Making a kiddie movie will be a big mistake. I think Common is a good choice but i think they need to make a solo movie for the heroes first. Like Marvel is doing. I wish DC would get their act together beyond just Batman. Batman is the only comic film that is keeping them ffrom blowing..

it was planned to be a kids movie? thats f*ckin weak.. I would rather see them make "The Green Lantern" prior to JLA, but people in Hollywood are just tripping over themselves to get JLA out there... anyway, Common is a great choice, he will fit the part well
