For the second year in a row, the Internet's top film journalists will be assembling for an epic debate of magnificent proportions. Our esteemed colleague Robert Sanchez of IESB has masterminded yet another Webmasters discussion, this time around entitled Wrath of Con. And it should be something quite special. While last year was a successful riot, and an insightful look into what it takes to run a popular genre site, this year will be an even bigger event. Yes, on the grandest scale of grand traditions, 2008's Webmasters' panel will be moderated by none other than the directing duo of Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.
That's right, the men behind Crank 2: High Voltage and Game will be on hand to showcase never-before-seen exclusive footage from their two upcoming works of crazy genius. And they will also be conducting an exciting debate on how new media has affected the movie making process, and what the more popular genre websites have had to do with this long surging tsunami. Sitting in on the debate will be some of your favorite web personalities of all time. Participating panelists include Robert Sanchez (IESB); Garth Franklin (Dark Horizons); Mike Sampson (Joblo); Erik Davis (Cinematical); John Campea (The Movie Blog); Brad Miska (Bloody Disgusting); Eric "Quint" Vespe (AICN); Devin Faraci aka The Internet (Chud); our very own Paulington J. Christensen III (Movieweb) and Kellvin Chavez (Latino Review).
Things will kick off in Room 32AB at 10am Thursday morning. Make sure you're not late, as twenty tickets to the most amazing party of the year will be given away during the course of this panel. Yeah, that's right, you can join in the fun of the "Wrath of Con" SDCC Afterparty yourself, and rub elbows with the likes of Jason Statham and Simon Pegg. Stay tuned for more details, as we will tell you how and when you can find your way into this once in a lifetime event.
So, fine. Go to the Ghostbusters video game panel. Go check out what Robert Rodriguez has to say about Red Sonja. Just make sure you don't miss the greatest panel of all: 2008's Masters of the Web panel. Trust us, you'll want to be there!
