COMIC-CON 2008: EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Smallville's Cast Tells Us to Expect the Justice League and New Villains in Season 8!

Few superhero television shows have enjoyed the kind of success that the WB's Smallville has. The show about a young Clark Kent has been a hit for the CW since it's creation. While at Comic-Con, we had the chance to go one-on-one with Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan) and Justin Hartley (Oliver Queen/Green Arrow) and the new villains Sam Witwer (Davis Bloome/Doomsday) and Cassidy Freeman (Tess), where the four of them teased us with some details about Season Eight. Click on the player below to watch the interviews.

Smallville airs Thursday nights on the CW. The drama about the early days of Clark Kent stars Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Allison Mack, Aaron Ashmore and Justin Hartley.

ssand is right, there are way too many incarnations of the comics, DC can't even figure out his true origin story and instead decided to make the canonical story pretty much the Superman movie!! They are supposedly working on a canon origin for future release.... neway...

It is only right for Lex and Lana to leave, if you know the mythology. Lana doesn't stay his love forever. When Clark accepts his "destiny," he leaves Lana behind and moves to Metropolis and is after Lois. Lex also moves to Metropolis and takes over his father's company, hence LEXCORP. I haven't seen the latest episodes of season 7 yet, but I know where they left off.

There's no way Lex dies, he'll def come back in Season 8 but he's not part of the main story anymore and neither is Lana, they are old news. Yes Lex is the main villain for Supes but Clark is not Supes yet. Lex comes back into play once Superman first makes his appearance known in Metropolis, and that will be after Smallville.

Of course, something has to happen in order for Lex to NOT REMEMBER all that has happened... Clark is Kal-El, Fortress, etc. And Chloe must die in Season 8. There's no other way. She must die before the show ends.

I don't really care about the myth of canon, DC hasn't bothered to keep it in its print anyway. A TV adaptation will have change because of the media.

Smallville has actually been a good series the last few seasons. I didn't really care for the teeny bopper 90210 aspect that was dragging down the show forever. But since they have finally come to terms with the 'super' part of things the entire show has become worth watching. With each character we have seen a new take. None of them follow the exact comic version, but instead we get a developed character that is not one dimensional.

I hope the quasi-rumor is true and that this will be the final season with Clark picking up the cape and they start a new series from the same clothe about Superman or the Justice League.

Doomsday is this seasons last and final big gun. I would have liked to have seen Metallio with or without the same origin. Without Luthor the story will hurt for awhile but this is way they brought in Tess, she'll basically act like Luthor and do things has if Lex was pulling the strings.
At least we might get to see Clark use his powers more this season, and finally no more Lana loves me, she loves me not. Be there done that since season 1, time to move on.

I don't see how season 7 is too early to bring in Doomsday. Secondly, I think the show is on an upswing as well. Thirdly, an absence of Lex will probably drag down the show unless they can hit us with some good villain action. Last, I understand that everyone who wants to see cannon remain unchanged, but there has to be some wiggle room for a TV series. In a comic book it's inexpensive to show Doomsday in every panel, but on TV, the CG would take half of every shows budget.

I disagree. The show was dreck during Season 4, but since then they've started swinging back up - and last season was awesome. It'll be weird not having Michael Rosenbaum on the show regularly as Lex, but I think it's going to be awesome. And heck, it this season does well, I wanna see Justin Hartley get a Green Arrow spin-off.

it going down hill rapid, this is just gonna be for the sake of it, why are they changing doomsday, this will give everyone the wrong impression of what he/it really is.
i thought they might have saved him for the man of steel

They changed Doomsday's origin, it will not follow the comics origin of the character. Tess Mercy will run Lex corp until Lex gets back, thats the whole idea around her character.

writers on this series pay no attention to series canon let alone comic canon. It hasn't bn worth watching 4 year.
