Real Genius heading to Columbia Pictures
Columbia is teaming with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's Imagine Entertainment for the project, whose second take on the script is now out to writers.
The 1985 original followed two brilliant teenagers who head a team of young geniuses developing a laser for what they believe is a class project. When they find out that their professor intends to turn their work over to the government for use as a weapon, they decide to ruin his plans.
A few years ago, a sequel was rumored, however this is not that, and Val Kilmer is not involved.

The original was so awesome, why the hell can't Hollywood just come up with some original ideas instead pilfering films from my childhood and turning them into remade crap?
