Colin Firth is set to produce his first film, the documentary, In Prison My Whole Life.

Variety says the film focuses on Mumia Abu-Jamal, a former Black Panther member who has spent the last 25 years in prison for murdering a police officer in Philadelphia. The story follows a youth born the day the officer was killed. He investigates why Abu-Jamal has been such a lightning rod for death penalty activism and an icon to the hip-hop community.
