The big question which has been on many people's minds after watching the trailer is "Where is the monster?" ... and in fact, the clip does give a quick look at the creature which terrorizes New York. Click the player below to see the short sequence (in slow motion) where you can see the monster:
In addition, the film has been tied in to NBC's Heroes where a promotional "Slusho" cup (from the movie's tie-in site slusho.jp) appeared in the last episode.
You can check out other Heroes cast members posing with "Slusho" cups at the blog of the show's co-producer Greg Beeman.

Cloverfield arrives in theatres on January 18, 2008.
Cloverfield was released January 18th, 2008 and stars Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, T.J. Miller, Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, Odette Annable, Anjul Nigam, Margot Farley. The film is directed by Matt Reeves.

It just might be a real earth creature from the deep sea. We are always finding this down there everyday. probably dosent get bigger than a sea horse. Just looks big in the doll house mock up set of NYC.

That was definitely a fun game. Lets hope it is that and not Godzilla.

This is a movie about the video game RAMPAGE. People turn into Godzilla and KingKong type monsters and destroy the city. Watch the clip in the tent, 2 guys in biohazard suits trying to hold a person that is about to change. this should be a fun cool movie.:)

Oh and in the trailer when you see the woman being held and screaming, it looks like she expands or gets bigger right at the end. Maybe that's a hint??? I thought it was 2 creatures attacking her but I guess it's just 2 people holding her.

Still looks awesome. Thought that there was too much hype but it might actually live up to it. And I can't believe it really will be called Cloverfield. I liked Monstrous better lol but it's all good :).

Err
yeah, and if you dont want to shell out 5-15 bucks to see it in the theater you can always just view it at 66stage. generally if the first ten-twenty minutes are any good ill just shut it off and go to the theater or wait for the dvd to come out.

I hope its not one of those films getting your hopes up that its going to be great, Dragon Wars and 30 Days of night did that. The trailer maybe the only action in the film?

I hope it's not Godzilla because Toho has decided to retire the Godzilla franchise for a period of 5-10 years to renew interest in the future, possibly returning with a new film in 2013 or 2014 as Godzilla's 59th or 60th Anniversary.

THE JOKER
i certainly hope that the cameras arent going to be moving around that much in the movie. im unsure about this film. As long as it doesnt look like a home made movie and they get everything in the visuals right this should be good.

I think it's MECHA-KING. One of about 3 or 4 giant monsters that are GODZILLA's enemies...it looks like GODZILLA but its a super advanced robot...other creatures are a giant sea turtle, big ass worm, and 3 headed dragon.

People are making too much hype out of this. Another classic of Godzilla rip off but with a kick...Having the cams from people's view is a good idea. I'll guess I'll wait to see more previews or what until I know people ou actually seen it.

Look very awesome. In Poland I have "Cloverfield" in March and whatever opinion will takl (bad or good) I go to the cinema with my friends, because it can be (in my opinion) a trully masterpice of 21th century! :D

I admit Im intrigued. But still feel that his will be one giant flop. It will of course make a sh*tload of Money which will then make way for even sh*ttier sequels. Just have to wait and see.

if i go and see this sh*t, i best see the damn monster in its entirety. the trailer is very intriguing cuase it doesnt show much, but sooner or later they'll have to lift that veil of secrecy.
looks dope though.

Its lame how a website has to do slow motion of your trailer to get a glimpse of your movie's monster because you dont want the fans to see it unless they pay up. Its also smart if your monster sucks and you can hide it until the very end.
