Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs Sequel Is in Production

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 goes into production

io9 is reporting that a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs sequel is currently in production. However, the original directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, will not be directing this film.

The new film is based on the second book in the series titled, Pickles to Pittsburgh.

Sources close to the production say that even though Lord and Miller are not helming this project the duo is going to be working on the story.

We check back in with Kate and Henry as they eagerly await Grandpa's return from an unusual vacation. Kate dreams about a postcard Grandpa has sent, and the story begins.

At present not much else is known about the status of the production.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was released September 18th, 2009 and stars Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Andy Samberg, Bruce Campbell, Mr. T, Bobb'e J. Thompson, Benjamin Bratt. The film is directed by Phil Lord, Chris Miller.
