Clifton Collins Jr. Joins Southland

It seems a casting switch has occurred on a sophomore NBC cop drama. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Clifton Collins Jr. has joined the TV series Southland.

Amaury Nolasco had joined the series in August as a series regular, but has dropped out of the series after filming just three episodes of the new second season. Collins Jr. has come on board to fill in the casting gap.

Collins will be playing a new character, though, Ray Suarez, who is still being developed. Nolasco portrayed the new partner of Detective Lydia Adams (Regina King).

awesome news, but wonder if Nolasco will be killed off then, if he had to back out or maybe thats why the season was pushed from Sept 25 to Oct 23 they had to film it all again....regardless this show is gritty i like it, the scenes are interesting with the camera movement but NBC held it to a pilot series of 12 episodes (very common now more than ever) i would like to see maybe 18 perhaps
