Christopher Eccleston and Jonathan Jackson have been added to the cast of the action/adventure fantasy, The Dark is Rising for Fox and Walden Media.

David L. Cunningham directs the film based on Susan Cooper's novel about a young man who travels back and forth through time to fight evil, says Variety. The rest of the cast includes Ian McShane, Frances Conroy and Alexander Ludwig.

The Dark is Rising begins production this week in Romania.

The Seeker: The Dark is Rising was released October 5th, 2007 and stars Alexander Ludwig, Christopher Eccleston, Ian McShane, Frances Conroy, James Cosmo, Jim Piddock, Amelia Warner, John Benjamin Hickey. The film is directed by David L. Cunningham.
