Earlier this month, we reported that Chris Pine is playing one half of a father-son team who steal the main characters' (Jason Bateman, Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis) idea for a new invention. Christoph Waltz has signed on to play the father. The actor had been eyeing the role for some time, although it was thought that there may be scheduling issues.
It isn't known how Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Aniston's characters fit into the sequel's story. Jamie Foxx is also returning as the hitman Motherf---er Jones.
In addition, the studio has issued a November 28, 2015 release date, bumping it nearly one year from the November 26, 2014 release date it handed out last month. Sean Anders is directing from a screenplay by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein. Production is currently under way in Los Angeles.
Christoph Waltz will next be seen in Muppets Most Wanted, The Candy Store and Big Eyes.
