
Christian Bale joins Out of the Furnace
Brad Ingelsby penned this thriller about a man who hopes to find peace after being released from a four year jail stint. His plans for a quite life come to a halt when his brother is murdered and he decides he must set out for revenge.
Christian Bale almost joined the project last year, but didn't come aboard due to scheduling issues. Robert Duvall is also eyeing the film, but has yet to officially sign on.
Christian Bale will shoot Out of the Furnace this spring before starting is promotional press tour for The Dark Knight Rises and going to work on Knight of Cups.
Out of the Furnace comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Christian Bale, Zoe Saldana, Robert Duvall, Viggo Mortensen, Casey Affleck, Sam Shepard, Forest Whitaker. The film is directed by Scott Cooper.

@narrator My buddy has been playing in John Michael Montgomery's band on and off since the early 90s. He's been in the music business since the 80s. He says Crazy Heart is about as realistic as it gets as far as the story goes.
As far as the direction, it's generic in an indie movie sorta way, but it holds your attention. He's solid.

The story doesn't sound all that original, nor does the name, but then look at The Fighter and what they did with that project. I'm interested to see where this goes.
Now, I haven't seen Crazy Heart, nor am I interested in seeing it anytime soon. So anyone whose seen it, can you tell me whether or not the direction seemed generic in the film?
