Chow Yun-Fat Joins the Cast of Dragonball Z

Chow Yun-Fat is the latest to join 20th Century Fox's live-action adaptation of Dragonball Z, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Chow will play Master Roshi. He rounds out a cast that includes Justin Chatwin, James Marsters, Emmy Rossum and Jamie Chung.

The film, directed by James Wong, follows Goku (Chatwin), a warrior alien who protects the Earth from an endless stream of rogues bent on dominating the universe and controlling mystical objects known as Dragon Balls.

Master Roshi is Goku's mentor, helping him achieve the highest state of fighting and spiritual powers.

Dragonball Evolution was released April 10th, 2009 and stars Justin Chatwin, Chow Yun-Fat, Emmy Rossum, Jamie Chung, James Marsters, Joon Park, Eriko Tamura, Randall Duk Kim. The film is directed by James Wong.

    Well it's a good casting choice Chow is a martial arts movie legend and an awesome actor although this movie seems doomed to be epicly bad. I will still see it opening day

    2movieguys, do you have anything better to do then to bash actors, and upcoming films? it seems you have somthing to say on every bit of news on movieweb, and you used the must have rent due with nic cage, so either get som enew material or shut up, my word. Dragonball is a pretty good show, and i hate anime, so that has to count for somthing, Chow yun-fat kicks ass, and james marsters will always rock, there is potential here, be optimistic!

    Also Emmy" Rossum stunk as an actress in "The Day After Tomorrow", and the 2004 version of "The Phantom of the Opera" so you know this film will bomb at the box office.
    This will bomb faster than "Pok&#233mon: The First Movie"!

    i gotta agree with andrew. i wana see it im totally amped and ready for this but im already prepared to be disappointed. altho the actors/ and behind the scenes team working on this project mite just pull off somethin great. i hope anyway, cuz it mite be just as bad as spiderman 3...tisk* tisk* what a shame that was. o well chow yun fat here goes nothin. and 2 movie guys youre not funny shut the hell up. he made enough money to pay rent and car insurance from POTC. stupid assh*le

    think about it, stephen chow, fox, james wong, the actors, a seperate director for effects, a stunt company and 100 mill budget. o yeah and like one of the greatest animes, if not the best, anime ever, what makes you think they can screw this up to the degree of being mentally retarded? stop being downers...

    could be pretty good, its ok for character fitting, coz roshi is not meant to be as old in this one, but having chow yun fat on the cast is a good thing im thinking. He can nail this part...
