Check Out 5 New Star Trek Clips!
The greatest adventure of all time begins with Star Trek, the incredible story of a young crew's maiden voyage onboard the most advanced starship ever created: the U.S.S. Enterprise. On a journey filled with action, comedy and cosmic peril, the new recruits must find a way to stop an evil being whose mission of vengeance threatens all of mankind.
The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals. One, James T. Kirk (Chris Pine), is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy. The other, Spock (Zachary Quinto), was raised in a logic-based society that rejects all emotion. As fiery instinct clashes with calm reason, their unlikely but powerful partnership is the only thing capable of leading their crew through unimaginable danger, boldly going where no one has gone before!
Star Trek hits theaters May 8 from Paramount Pictures.
Star Trek was released May 8th, 2009 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

I just got back from an advanced screening of Star Trek, and it totally kicked ass. These scenes don't even skim the surface of how good the movie really is.

At first I had no interest in this movie, as well as never seeing the show or having any interest in Star Trek, but know after seeing these clips, and hearing all the good reviews about this film; Im gonna give it a shot and Im sure Ill be satisfied.

sweeneyfan1, quit commenting because if all you have to say is how gay everything is no one is interested and you obviously do not know what you are talking about.

BTW - I grew up watching Trek, TNG, DS9, Voyager (a little), and Enterprise. I wasn't a trekker, never went to conventions, but when I was young, I wanted to be Spock, so Star Trek is very dear to me. That being said, I think this looks like the shot in the arm this franchise needs. We need new blood, it needs to get younger, it needs to start fresh. If it has more "eye candy," explosions, fights, skydiving, etc and still tells a great story... I don't know, I'm not going to complain.
People complaining that this isn't as cerebral as the old Star Trek didn't necessarily watch every episode of the original series. Top it all off, perhaps the reason we can't pull off a classic Trek film this day and age is because no one can write one anymore. The classic Trek movie franchise we all revere hasn't been that great since First Contact. Even then we had the "every other" rule for good Trek movies (2, 4, 6, First Contact being the best of the bunch). I love my Trek, but we've had some classic Trek's that weren't very good.
I'm all for sp*cing it up.
All that being said, I agree with Randle... the lens glare going on is a bit ubiquitous!

I'm lovin' this! This movie, Terminator Salvation, and Harry Potter are my MUST SEE's of this Summer. There are quite a few more that I want to see coming out, but these are my definite midnight showing picks.

I agree this isn't a remake. But it DOES NOT 'fit into the chronology of the other ten movies as a prequel just fine'. This is a total departure that will be a stand alone movie. They're trying to connect it, but it ain't workin'!
"Star Trek" was never as pimped out as this thing is. However, today you need things pimped out for audiences to enjoy and get into a summer tent pole movie. That being the case, I don't know that anyone could have pulled off a faithful classic "Trek" film in this day and age. And this new movie is certainly anything but.
O.K., yes someone could have done it...but no one would go see it. Due to comments I've read by so many people who are watching the original series to gear up for this new movie, that show is too slow and too 'talky' for them.
Again, people and critics talk about how, even though this is an amazing thrill ride action movie, the core philosophy and ideals of Gene Roddenberry's original are very evident throughout. So far I'm having a very hard time seeing that through the explosions, fights, space sky diving, and over saturated eye candy this thing is throwing at us.
In all fairness, all I can say is...we'll see when it opens.

well regarding the sky diving thing, actually the original opening of star trek generations was of kirk scotty and chekov doing orbital sky diving. It's a deleted scene on the dvd. So its not too far fetched, plus its star trek for christ sake the whole thing is unbelievable lol! Again gonna kick some serious ass!!

This isn't a remake. It fits into the chronology of the other ten movies as a prequel just fine. In fact, it's intended to. So quit saying remake douchebags.
