In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Charlize Theron and Jason Reitman are presently in talks for Young Adult, based on a script by Diablo Cody for Mandate Pictures.

Mandate bought the script in March.

The story follows a divorced writer (Charlize Theron) from the Midwest who returns to her hometown to reconnect with an old flame, who's now married with a family.

John Malkovich is executive producing this project which will reunite Reitman with much of the team behind his breakout hit, Juno.

Young Adult was released December 9th, 2011 and stars Charlize Theron, Patton Oswalt, Patrick Wilson, Elizabeth Reaser, Collette Wolfe, Jill Eikenberry, Richard Bekins, Mary Beth Hurt. The film is directed by Jason Reitman.
