Channing Tatum is in talks for White House Down
The story is described as Die Hard set in the White House, centering on a paramilitary takeover of the Presidential residence. We reported back in March that Sony bought the script by James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man) for $3 million, the largest spec script sale this year. It isn't clear yet what character Channing Tatum will play, if a deal is finalized.
Harald Kloser, Laeta Kalogridis, and Brad Fischer are producing alongside Roland Emmerich and James Vanderbilt. Magic Mike screenwriter Reid Carolin, Channing Tatum's producing partner, will executive produce.
No production schedule was revealed.
White House Down comes to theaters June 28th, 2013 and stars Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, Jason Clarke, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Richard Jenkins, James Woods, Rachelle Lefevre, Joey King. The film is directed by Roland Emmerich.

Emmerich can be amazing when he actually gives a crap about the material.

Tatum might get better in acting. Hope so. So I don't care that he's in it.
I'm just excited for this. It's an awesome thriller idea.
