Catherine Hardwicke in Talks for Maximum Ride

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is negotiating with Sony's Columbia Pictures to develop and direct a film adaptation of Maximum Ride, which is also a young-adult fantasy series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the five-volume series by James Patterson chronicles six teens, known as the Flock, who are genetically altered so that they are part human and part bird. Learning to fly, they escape the laboratory where they have been housed and are pursued by a pack of creatures called the Erasers that are part human and part wolf.

Don Payne (Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer) is writing a screenplay.

No production date has been set.

twlight was emo/teenage garabage. And please don't bother telling me how good the book was!

Putting F4:RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER on your resume to your writing skills is NOT smart!

jokerr, no one insulted the idea, they just expressed disinterest.

starving though some may be for original ideas i happen to be a consumer of independant media and dont need to turn to teeny bopper movies for entertainment.
i have all i need from lions gate and dimension extreme, genius, magnolia/magnet, etc.
hell even 'after dark' occasionally releases a decent movie, infrequently though it may be.

Now, wait a sec. My son read this series before he was ever turned onto Twilight. The series wasn't bad and could make for a decent movie series.

You guys have to pick... Hollywood sucks because of no new ideas, or bash all the new ones that come in. Read the books first and decide that way. I'll give it a chance.
