Cate Blanchett
Russell Crowe is set to star as the title character in the film, which was originally titled Nottingham. The script, originally written by Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris (Sleeper Cell), was rewritten by Brian Helgeland and now has the feel of a Gladiator-style retelling of the classic tale. Ridley Scott, who directed Crowe in Gladiator, will direct Robin Hood.
The film, budgeted at $130 million, will film in London with production slated to start in April.
Robin Hood was released May 14th, 2010 and stars Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Max von Sydow, William Hurt, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, Danny Huston, Eileen Atkins. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.

ZZ, Cate was gorgeous in Charlotte Gray, in Lord Of The Rings and especially as ballerina in Benjamin Button with red hair and extraordinary blue eyes.

Wow! This film just skyrocketed in terms of quality and my expectations. Cate Blanchett is the best actress working right now next to Streep, so to have her on this project is a Godsend. Her powerful screen presence and impeccable acting skills will be perfect for the strong independent Marian. Great choice, BRAVO, can't wait!
Oh, and she's breathtakingly gorgeous imo.

The Narrator: The Better Man
Some of you just go for the prettiest chick along. But a bunch of them can't act for sh*t compared to Cate, so shut it. Jeez.

I've never seen a film where Cate fits the profile of "gorgeous," but her great acting skills, and an excellent make up department (only joking), should propel her character forward. I agree Vis, Nottingham sounds a lot better.

Oli, why do you end every comment with "lol"? Because you're not funny. So the only reason to be laughing is if you took a bunch of pain pills.

I'm with Shelley, I think Cate Blanchett is gorgeous. Also, she'll be a lot stronger in the role than Sienna Miller's whole "cry for me" thing.

She's great and I like the idea of her in this role. I also agree with Vis, Nottingham was a much better title.

Oh, God someone please take that picture down. The most hideous woman in showbiz. This role would have been better for Kate Beckinsale.

Well this movie just went to sh*t! I liked the original concept of this movie with the cast they had lined up but now? I'm sick of seeing this fugly chick in everything! She really isn't all that great. Sienna Miller woulda done a better job.
