Cast Is Set for the Ensemble Romantic Comedy Bob Funk
Bob Funk revolves around the sardonic, quick witted and politically incorrect title character, limned by Campbell, who is on the tail end of a three year slump professionally and personally and must get his life back together, quit drinking and visit a therapist regularly if he intends on saving his job as a sales executive for a futon company owned by his mother.
To complicate matters, he begins to fall for Ms. Thorne, Cook, who his mother has hired to replace him.
Cook recently starred in She's All That and Nancy Drew. Campbell previously co-starred with Ed Burns in Sidewalks of New York.
"The combination of Carlisle's uniquely brilliant and hilarious piece and such an accomplished cast makes us elated and honored to take this journey," said Keith Kjarval who acquired, developed and is producing the film for his company Unified Pictures.
''Bob's story is very personal for me, so I feel fortunate to have landed with Unified as they have allowed me to make the movie I wrote and have helped me creatively in taking it from stage to screen,'' said director Craig Carlisle.
''We are extremely excited to be collaborating with such a fresh voice and unique talent such as Carlisle," said Executive Producer Ben Ruffman.
The film begins shooting in Los Angeles in August and September and marks Carlisle's film directorial debut. He previously directed theatre (including Liz Tuccillo's critically acclaimed Off-Broadway play "Joe Fearless").
Bob Funk was released February 27th, 2009 and stars Rachael Leigh Cook, Alyssa Bartholomew, Robert John Brewer, Jules Bruff, Michael Leydon Campbell, Ron Canada, Christina Elizabeth Cavallero, Patty Cornell. The film is directed by Craig Carlisle.
