Cars Creators Gearing Up for the DVD

It has only just opened but the makers of Cars are already gearing up for the DVD.

In a story from Home Media Retailing, the creators of this highly anticipated Pixar film have begun work on a five minute short for the DVD titled "Ghost Light." Larry the Cable Guy will be starring in the film voicing the character of Mater the tow truck, the character he voices in the feature.

According to Larry the Cable Guy, "They wanted to show Mater's heart and how he was toward other people. So it's kind of like the same kind of thing, but it's a whole other story."

Darla Anderson, who produced Cars, said that other extras for the DVD might be "animation bloopers" as well as home movies created by the filmmakers.

Cars was released June 9th, 2006 and stars Owen Wilson, Paul Newman, Bonnie Hunt, Larry The Cable Guy, Cheech Marin, Tony Shalhoub, Guido Quaroni, Jenifer Lewis. The film is directed by John Lasseter, Joe Ranft.
