Carrie remake moving forward at MGM
It is said that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will stick much closer to Stephen King's novel than the original movie did. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has worked with Stephen King in the past, penning a graphic novel based on Stephen King's book The Stand.
Oddly enough, Carrie wasn't one of the projects listed when MGM announced a slew of remake projects, which include RoboCop, Poltergeist, Mr. Mom, and others.
The original Carrie starred Sissy Spacek as the title character, an ostracized young girl who uses her special gifts to get even with her tormentors.
No production schedule was released for the Carrie remake.
Carrie was released November 3rd, 1976 and stars Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, William Katt, Betty Buckley, Nancy Allen, John Travolta, P.J. Soles. The film is directed by Brian De Palma.

There is only one Stephen King film that scared the day lights out of me, IT...And that's being remade as well. I just wish someone would focus on his newer books.
Did anyone make that Werewolf graphic novel of his into a film? Because that's something I would love to watch.

All hell no, certain films need to be remade but Carrie isn't one of them.
I maybe a camera man for a small production company but this takes the cake. Yes you read right I film plays and weddings at the moment, I would love to film a horror or Adventure film.
I remember that someone had done a reboot in the last few years, so this isn't new.

no wonder MGM went bankrupt. they cant come up with an original idea to save their ass. the only thing they have going for them is bond, and they dont own that. so sad. i remember when this company used to release good movies. and ORIGINAL movies at that.

@thedude1 Yeah, nothing is sacred. The only solace that can be taken from those other movies you mentioned is that they were so bad, they actually made you appreciate the originals even more so. The Carrie remake will probably be the same.
