I saw this video of behind the scenes clips, put to Hans Zimmer's song, "Time" from the Inception soundtrack. And below is my reply to it:
(won't let me post link. go to you tube, search for "carrie backstage photos")
"God. Every time I see that shot at 1:27 it tears my heart out. The cruelty and hatefulness given so ruthlessly by children, and even some adults is beyond my ability to understand. When will we choose kindness? When will we choose goodness? When will we choose to stand in the light, to turn away from that which has forever brought only despair and sorrow to mankind? Never be a cause of suffering to another. Never darken their soul with hate. Always choose to care. Always choose kindness."

To those who sit back in the armchair film critic place of laconic observation about the worthiness of remakes, the soul and spirit of this movie will be eternally lost. For those who see something beyond, remember: it was the cruelty and abuse suffered by Stephen King in his nightmarishly horrible childhood that laid the foundations of most of his stories, especially Carrie. The more I watch that video above, the more my heart is immovably brought to the power of what this film can mean, and what I increasingly know with everything in me that it does mean. The director of Carrie, herself, was ridiculed and mocked and treated with that same cruelty all her life as I gather, for her choice of perceptions and lifestyles. Every last one of us has been at least a witness to bullying, ugliness, and cruelty by others whether during our years in school or even as adults. It has NEVER been acceptable, it has NEVER been right, it has NEVER been conscionable. This story will bring something not typically seen before the eyes of those who watch: it will show the gradual breaking of a human heart through the deliberate, hateful choice of what seems to be just everyday kids. For what children in today's time now face in school, there cannot be a more worthy and timely film than this. Let it serve to remind what may silently lie in wait behind the guarded surface of those who seem to so meekly shrink from the sins and evil of others.

@yannick-decorte true. i was pointing more at the blonde and "the jock" and thinking this is going to just fall into all sorts of stereotypes...

@moviewiz001 In light of Amanda Todd's suicide, at least I can buy that a sexy girl in high school could be the subject of that kind of bullying, but it's gonna have to be well-written.

@justatadmatt That's just what we needed; an entire movie focused on stereotypical movie bullies. I don't really think it's the acting, it's the writing.

@moviewiz001@moviemaniac66@moviegeek@yannick-decorte ...i know it's behind the scenes, but if this is an indication of the acting, i'm worried...

That's Chloe under all that blood? I agree about the remakes. If they're going to do this, why don't they reboot Plan 9 From Outer Space, or Howard the Duck, or Batman & Robin with Roger Corman directing. :p

Mutant
No point in making it, a waste of money and time. Instead of remaking Kings films, make book to films that haven't been made.
Oddly, a number of his books have been made into films or mini series.

im one of those who don't get easily pissed off by remakes even if they are of classics but i do think this is one of the pointless reboots ever to be made

I see no way this can be good. There's no point. The story is simplistic and it's been told several times already.

Still don't see this one working... The original worked so well because of the painfully slow buildup to the final scenes. There's no way any horror film nowadays will cash in on a slow buildup without the name "Paranormal Activity".

I hope its good. With a pretty solid director and a nice cast, the movie has my support. Just hope that it doesn't let me down.

Decent poster. I love Moretz, and love the choice of Moore as her repressive mother; I just don't see the purpose of this reboot.
