Carrie Birth Certificate and Banner

MGM has launched the official Facebook page for Carrie, a reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloe Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. So far, this new page has offered up the first viral banner and a copy of Carrie's birth certificate. Now, maybe MGM can cook one up for Barack Obama and end the debate!

Carrie comes to theaters October 18th, 2013 and stars Chloe Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Gabriella Wilde, Michelle Nolden, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Samantha Weinstein. The film is directed by Kimberly Peirce.

    @ghostman That is the only reason I am even slightly behind this! I think she will be able to make this role rememberable... The thing with the remakes... It's not the idea of remakes that bothers people, it's when they are completely unnecessary... If a film can still be viewed and enjoyed to this day, no matter how old it is, it should not be remade, such as The Goonies... But they are just remaking everything right now with no remorse as to whether or not the movie truly needs a revision...

    I'm skeptical about the potential here for another film to be interesting. Girl is shy and bullied, gets tricked into thinking she became popular, then publicly humiliated so exacts revenge on those who hurt her with her telekinetic power. There's not a lot of room for originality there.

    This was one of my least favorite King novels and the movies were...not so good IMO. I will be looking for user reviews to get a basic feel for the movie but I do not have high hopes.
