Anna Kendrick is a contender for the female lead in Captain America: The Winter Soldier
No further details were released about this new female character. Chris Evans is slated to return as Steve Rogers/Captain America. We reported last month that Anthony Mackie signed on to star as The Falcon. Samuel L. Jackson is expected to return as Nick Fury, while Sebastian Stan returns as Bucky Barnes, who transforms into the title villain The Winter Soldier.
Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are directing from a screenplay by Captain America: The First Avenger scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier comes to theaters April 4th, 2014 and stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Robert Redford, Frank Grillo. The film is directed by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo.
