Captain America: The First Avenger was released July 22nd, 2011 and stars Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, Dominic Cooper, Richard Armitage, Stanley Tucci. The film is directed by Joe Johnston.

    The dude's name is Captain America, and his suit is the colors of the flag, along with his shield, so of course there is gonna be a pro-America sentiment behind it, as there should be. Kinda refreshing to me with all the hate America drivel I hear day in, day out. The government sucks, sure, but to the American people and our ideals, I say America, F*CK YEAH!

    @jptheredskull: Dude, you're cool, but be careful. Brian kinda had a hard on for "Avatar," regardless of numerous users problems with it. You're somewhat sounding the same. It'd just be nice if you don't go down THAT road. :P And he's sorta right from the perspective of someone unfamiliar with the comics. This trailer seems overly pro-american-nationalist and all all the more like a billboard for the army when set against a 30s backdrop for those unfamiliar with the comic book, like me. So whatev. But I do like the 30s setting to keep in synchro with the originals. Still deciding on whether or not to skip this.

    Aside from Batman Begins, I've been perhaps the biggest critic of comic book based films on this site over the past couple of years. That aside, this looks very, very cool. It's shot well, the texture is indicative of what a comic book film should be, and the acting looks solid. Speaking strictly from a movie perspective, I'm very excited for this one.

    Ok I'm a bit confused bout something, could someone help me out here....

    In the scene where Cap and the Commandos are walking into the warehouse, if u look on ur left behind Bucky, is a guy in a beret with a moustache, Played by actor JJ Field, they have him listed in the cast as Montgomery Falsworth a.k.a Union Jack...but he also has a close resemblence to Howling Commando Percival "Pinky" Pinkerton...

    My question is has it been confirmed that Field will indeed play Union Jack or is it to soon to know that he may end up being Pinkerton?

    @incmob...True they couldve gone with making him near the same height as Evans, but i think it was good with making him smaller and a bag of bones, I guess they just wanted to show how much the Super-Soldier Serum changes u physically, perfect example was to make a puny twerp into lean, mean fighting machine :]

    @bane5000 yes, i agree that it was a much better thing to do with cg than with just try to find an actor that looked like evans, and dub in his voice (however it truly did work in 1978 with the original superman, uncanny how jeff east did look a lot like christopher reeve... genius really IMHO) but i do have to agree with @dan1, that i think they should have at least made him near the same height as chris evans as cap.

    Awesome! So excited for this movie, you have no idea.

    Although, I've read a lot of comments complaining about pre-serum Steve. I think the only reason people are put off by it is because they aren't used to seeing Chris Evans so tiny. It does take some getting used to, but I do agree with some people about the fact that they probably should have kept him the same height. It's weird to see Chris looking up at Sebastian like that!

    Overall, I'm looking forward to this greatly, and have INFINITELY more hope for this than Thor.
