@felipe-11 - hahaha ok I can see where you are coming from. But I will say this, if I had a costume that looked like that at 10 years old, id rock it every year after, hell, maybe even everywhere I went. That is one sick halloween costume!! I hate the plastic superhero masks that are attached by the string.

@iamfratson LOL, I wouldn't say spandex, just don't make him look like a 10 year old in a halloween costume

@dan1 I appreciate why I might have upset some people, but I did it because I feel others go out of their way to trash characters and projects that some (me, being one ) have been waiting for for literally 25 years since I was a young boy. I apologize for my arrogance. I must admit I was having a moment. Sheer arrogance, no matter how founded, is never a good counter toward others' callousness. But I stand behind the fact that much of what I said is true. I only respond well to maturity, as well. I appreciate your measured tone. @Masta_Chiefed, I didn't come on here to inflame the "Comic Book Crowd." I AM one of that comic book crowd. But I also remember when everything wasn't so instantly gratified and/or easily dismissed. I only meant that I wish people would see that part of the magic of the genre is the fact that, budget-wise and technologically, we are finally in a time when these characters can be brought to life in the way they were envisioned. I just hope people see that these characters have been around for 50-70 years and that they deserve a chance to be just that...magical. I appreciate your guy's input.

@Steven-Morrow While I can appreciate you wanting to point out some hypocrisies and the superficial nature of 'some' comic book fans, your arrogant way of wording your complaint will probably turn off most of us who would want to engage you in a civil, mature conversation. Most of us know what 'Raiders' means, and we'll continue with our facepalm and fail jargon.

@Steven-Morrow Just coming on here to flame the whole comic book crowd probably isn't the best strategy for changing the rhetoric on MW. This "Meaningless Minutia" you reference are the types of things which can be seen when your artistic eye matures. Sounds familiar?
You do realize this is the internet?

I think youngins want comic-book action glitz. I don't think they'll see it here. I'm amazed at fanboys who think comic history started in the 90s. I read their comments every time I log on to one of these blogs. A real artistic eye develops with maturity, not the ability to type. Yet, this is not an indictment, but a statement. I believe Joe Johnston is actually shooting above his pay-grade and taking cues from a well of sources. I see some Raiders in here (that's Raiders of the Lost Ark), in lighting and camera work. Instead of whining about how tight Cap's pants are or aren't, pay attention. It is, at this point, a period piece. I am reassured because, it would seem Johnston is attempting to take a cue from some well-qualified masters. Instead of bitching about meaningless minutia, I would like to see some of my brethren actually see what is trying to be done, what is actually being attempted, and discuss that. Instead, I hear the same CBM boys who whined for this movie to be made whine some more and act like they hope it won't succeed before it even has a full trailer out, much less an actual release (please, no more epic, facepalm, fail BS. Get out of your mother's basements).

@daveactor7...Believe me, i know the feeling thats, how i felt when i was waiting for TLA, then...well u know the rest of that catastrophic story...But this is Cap, im sure Marvel wouldnt let one of there most important and patriotic characters be made in a half ass kind of effort for his first film, have faith... if it does fail, walk outside, shake ur fist angrily to the sky and yell " DAMN U MARVEL" :D

Very authentic for the 40s, just with patriotic modifications. Very reminiscent of a paratrooper uniform. I think they've made Cap believably cool. I like how they work his costume into the story too. I was a fan but never a huge fan, but I've been getting more excited about this movie.
I bet Stark and SHIELD will design a modern combat suit for him in the Avengers.

@joekerr2e Oh I agree, but it's still just a movie. I doubt Iron Man is super comfy in a metal suit, but it stays true.

@skywise Disney and Marvel Studios are doing really well and mainly because they know who there main fanbase is: THE COMICBOOK Fans. And don' get me wrong, they do more than enough to make the characters acessible to mainstream audiences but they make the film feel like the fans were in mind when it was made.
Companies like Sony, Lionsgate, and ESPECIALLY Fox fail because it's either on extreme or the other.
That's what 20th Century Fox is doing right now. They're treating Green Lantern too much as a non-cbm for general movie goers rather than a film made for both Comic Book fans as well as general movie goers.
I think the easiest, to some extent, for Disney/Marvel to regain their charactera rights is to have some controling interest in the other studios ot to buy them out all together (the company itself or the character rights).
Now they could do a co-production where the rights holder keeps the rights but the characer can be used in crossovers.

@joekerr2e - nicely put!! Like you said, it has the right look and feel to a field uniform...just with less green and more Red, White, and Blue :)
I think it looks as great as I had imagined. If I saw Cap walking up in Spanex...well, would it be nostaglic? Hell Ya. Would it look gay? For sure. There is a reason the characters don't get adapted with the outfits in comics.

@balanorange I don't dig the baggy look either, but trust me on this... it's spot on. All our field uniforms are baggy fitted. It's easier for movement and accessing utility/cargo pockets. If you've ever had to wear one for 24hrs at a time, you'd rather they fill like pajamas, then fit like an Armani. :)

@jptheredskull i couldnt agree more. It seems that Disney is really doing well with the Marvel Universe. I am keeping my fingers crossed for spidey and Ghost rider is something i just dont know about. I want it to be good and everything is pointing that this ill be a much better take on the character.

@skywise Yeah me too. When they do the inevitable X-Men Reboot, He should direct.
P.S. Am I the only one who think Disney should buy Sony and take the rights to Spider-Man and Ghost Rider?
