Oh, so there will perhaps be more than one Cap A. movie? How will that work out, since they are supposed to release Avengers movie in 2012. Won't it be confusing for audiences to get Avengers one year where you have a group of heroes and then another sequel to one of those heroes the year after etc etc.? I think they should stick to one franchise and focus on that instead.
Does anyone know apart from Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Captain A. which other characters will be in Avengers?

Cool that you were an extra, was it when they shot in Manchester?
Joe Johnston worked on nearly all the Star Wars films and was the art director, it's because of his help the Star Wars movies had such great effects (at the time). I think he also was art director for one of the Indiana Jones films. And also, if you look at the visual effects of JP3 it was pretty good. If it's something he's good at it's the art and design of the setting that makes his movies great.
I think we shouldn't expect this movie to have Christopher Nolan level of quality, but at least it's someone with a bit of experience in the field, that's always something.
I think it's good that there won't be three Cap A. movies since they are supposed to release Avengers franchise in 2012 and i think Evans will have agreed to a couple of Avenger movies, at least. Personally it wasn't til the avengers that i started liking Cap A character.

Thanks guys and gals :)
@lane1
I'll concur with you on Jumanji, and well in my opinion, straight after that flick was when Johnson's career died, since then his been shovelling sh*t after sh*t... I'd more have to concur with @bud2fresh on his good productions alla prior to 1995.
And to add on, they are more or less going with Thor being in terms of a Shakesperian tale, which alot of its elements are that of Shakespeare, so it's does seem fair to have a Shakesperian nut on the job lol.
And well the thing that annoys me the most about CA:TFA, is that the original director was meant to be Darren Aronfonsky, how Johnston got this gig over Aronfonsky is beyond me.

If your not happy with Joe Johnstons previous work then dig deeper than Wolfman an JP3 this man helped bring us Star Wars!!!!!!!!!! AND Indiana Jones!!!!!! So lock it up people an do some work before you start to hate!!! AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

And Thor's director isn't exactly much to shout about either... that's got Kenneth Branagh and he's been a lot more successful as an actor than a director, plus he's known more for his Shakespearian works than anything else.

Come on guys, take it easy on Joe Johnston. Just because he's done a couple of bad movies, including one recently, doesn't mean the same will go for this.
Besides, he did Jumanji and that movie is a classic!
And like @Narrator said on the last article, he also did Hidalgo and Jurassic Park III (which was good for what it was). So there ya go, let's give the guy a chance. :)

I'm still hesitant about being too optimistic simply because of Joe Johnston, but every thing I see about this movie is making it look pretty good. If the rumors that Joss Whedon tinkered with the script are true then this could really turn out well. I'm still way more excited for Thor, though.

HERE'S SOME NEW DETAILS AS WELL...
* Chris Evans did not want to sign a nine picture deal with Marvel that would have included three "Captain America" films, three "The Avengers" installments and three other appearances in Marvel movies. No word on which three were cut out of the deal.
* Evans had to bulk up for the role, since he will be playing Captain America. But the movie will also needs shots of him as a scrawny soldier. Director Joe Johnston will use "clever camera angles, costume trickery and special effects that will digitally reduce Evans' body or even put his face on a skinny actor.
* When the film gets released in countries other than America, the studio is planning to drop "Captain America" from the title and just call it "The First Avenger."
* Marvel initially wanted the movie to jump between the past and the present, but that didn't work as an origin story. The decision was made to keep it mostly in WWII.
* The plot features Captain America as the leader of a team of international elite soldiers known in the comic books as the Howling Commandos. The mission will deal with the Red Skull, Hitler's head of weaponry and the Cosmic Cube.
* The movie will set up "The Avengers," but since it is set several decades in the past, it will begin and end with the classic "frozen in ice" storyline.
* The classic comic book costume with the wings on the head will appear in the movie. Evans wears it when he's used as a propaganda tool. He hates it and eventually goes to Howard Stark of Stark Industries to help him build the new, more advanced suit that he ends up wearing for most of the film.
