Captain America 2 reveals shortlist for directors
While it may seem odd to have a pair of sitcom directors in the mix for a big-budget adventure, an insider reveals the Russo brothers made a good first impression with Marvel Studios' president of production, Kevin Feige.
"Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios' president of production] is a 'vibe guy.' He likes to see if he gets along with people before he'll decide about spending the next two years with them. And apparently, they hit it off with Kevin in the room."
It is said that meetings are scheduled with all of the finalists early next month, and that a decision could be made as early as mid-April. Actor Neal McDonough, who played Dum Dum Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger, said back in January that Captain America 2 will likely begin shooting at the end of this year, after Thor 2 wraps principal photography.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier comes to theaters April 4th, 2014 and stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Robert Redford, Frank Grillo. The film is directed by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo.

I didn't care for the first one, it seemed rushed as if they wanted him in the present right away which could have been avoided.
If it were me, I would have made a trilogy and work around the Avenger film.

These directors could make a awesome Captain America Sequel. Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, Alfonso Cuaron, Sam Mendes, Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan, David Fincher, Peter Jackson, and Ethan & Joel Coen.

Can we try and get an Asian director? This way we won't need to worry about action sequences

Glad Johnson's out. The first one was great story-wise, but he completely dropped the ball with the action. The action scenes were terribly directed and edited even worse. That CANNOT happen in a superhero movie.

I thought Joe Johnson did a splendid job on the first film. I sincerely hope they bring him back for the sequel.
