James Franco's Caesar: Rise of the Apes gets a new November 23 release date
20th Century Fox shuffled a few release dates today, the most notable being the sci-fi prequel Caesar: Rise of the Apes, which was moved from a June 24 release to Thanksgiving weekend, opening on November 23. The studio feels that the sci-fi project, which stars James Franco, Freida Pinto and Andy Serkis, will play well throughout the holiday season.

Fox also moved its Jim Carrey comedy Mr. Popper's Penguins from an August 12 release to June 17. The studio also set a release date of October 14 for The Big Year, which stars Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson.

In other Fox release date news, The Sitter was moved up from July 15 to June 24, to occupy Caesar: Rise of the Apes' slot. And Now was pushed back from September 30 to October 28.

New Regency also moved What's Your Number? from April 29 to September 30.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was released August 5th, 2011 and stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo, Tyler Labine, Jamie Harris. The film is directed by Rupert Wyatt.

Mr. Popper's Penguins was released June 17th, 2011 and stars Jim Carrey, Carla Gugino, Angela Lansbury, Ophelia Lovibond, Madeline Carroll, Clark Gregg, Jeffrey Tambor, David Krumholtz. The film is directed by Mark Waters.

The Big Year was released October 14th, 2011 and stars Jack Black, Zahf Paroo, John Cleese, Owen Wilson, Rosamund Pike, Steve Martin, Kevin Pollak, Joel McHale. The film is directed by David Frankel.

The Sitter was released December 9th, 2011 and stars Jonah Hill, Max Records, Ari Graynor, J.B. Smoove, Sam Rockwell, Landry Bender, Kevin Hernandez, Kylie Bunbury. The film is directed by David Gordon Green.

In Time was released October 28th, 2011 and stars Justin Timberlake, Olivia Wilde, Shyloh Oostwald, Johnny Galecki, Colin McGurk, Will Harris, Michael William Freeman, Jesse Lee Soffer. The film is directed by Andrew Niccol.

    This is good news, this is exactly what happen to Star Trek in 2009, the film got postponed but when the movie was released it was awsome. It means that they are taking their time with it.
