Butterfly Effect 3 Coming from After Dark Films

Benderspink and FilmEngine will produce the third installment of The Butterfly Effect along with After Dark Films, which will distribute it theatrically in the U.S. as part of its After Dark Horror Fest: 8 Films to Die For series.

The Hollywood Reporter says Holly Brix (The Lost Girls) wrote the screenplay, which centers on a young man with the power to time travel who attempts to solve the mystery of his high school girlfriend's death.

The Butterfly Effect was released January 23rd, 2004 and stars Ashton Kutcher, Melora Walters, Amy Smart, Elden Henson, William Lee Scott, John Patrick Amedori, Irene Gorovaia, Kevin G. Schmidt. The film is directed by Eric Bress, J. Mackye Gruber.

    The first film was so amazing, it still is one of my favorite movies

    The second one was utter crap and ended up being like a porn movie for most of it. I mean, there's a scene where this bald midget is giving it to the main guy under the covers, HOW DID THE FIRST ONE GO SO DOWNHILL AND DUMP OUT A SECOND ONE LOOKING LIKE THIS!?

    I pray that this one is as good as the first, but from the sounds of the synopsis "a young man with the power to time travel who attempts to solve the mystery of his high school girlfriend's death."...It sounds like it will be utter sh*t.

    those who've never heard of part 2 then they better not go look for it and watch it, it sucks big time and totally digress from the original idea (there was no blackouts from his past for him to fill and thus change the future... he only travels through time)

    heard 2 sucked. strait to dvd. now there is a 3rd? and its gonna be part of the horrorfest??? i have seen all 8 of the '06 line-up and 2 of the '07. and i must say, the butterfly effect fits no where in it. this is gonna be bad for sure
